Our Story

Kunda Kids is an award-winning children's publishing and media company based in London. We create books, songs, animations and learning resources for parents, schools and libraries around the world.

In 2021, Kunda Kids published the popular children's book series Africa's Little Kings & Queens, a collection of beautifully illustrated picture books inspired by ancient history's great leaders. Mansa Musa Builds a School has been recognised as one of the top ten children's books with empowering black characters by The Independent two years in a row (2021 and 2022).

In 2021, the studio won the Channels Book Club Heroes of the Year Award and celebrated the release of The Kunda Kids App. Today, Kunda Kids is a diverse team of 20+ writers, artists, developers and experts across the UK, Nigeria, Ghana and Uganda.

The power of storytelling

Stories are essential in providing new knowledge – enriching children's vocabulary, and enhancing their communication skills. In addition, they boost children's confidence and offer emotional support during difficult times.

We pride ourselves in authentic stories that give children a window to other worlds and a mirror to themselves.

Kunda Kids ships to the following countries: U.K, U.S, Canada, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda, Australia, New Zealand.

Can I track my order?

Orders are dispatched within 3 working days. You will receive an email with a tracking number once your order has been dispatched.

Orders in the U.K and U.S arrive within 3-5 working days. Please allow 5-10 days for all other orders.

Our Founders

Kunda Kids was founded in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic by parents, husband, and wife, Oladele and Louisa Olafuyi. Oladele is a former consultant and Cambridge MBA Alumni. Louisa is a former journalist and innovation specialist at Unilever.

The word 'Kunda' means means 'Love' in Uganda.
