Kunda Kids named Top 20 in Africa's Business Heroes 2025

This year, our Co-founder, Louisa Kiwana Olafuyi, was recognised as one of the Top 20 African Business Heroes of 2025, a milestone that marks not only her extraordinary entrepreneurial journey, but the collective spirit of everyone who has been part of Kunda Kids.

Building What Did Not Exist

When we launched Kunda Kids, our mission was bold: to create a world-class children’s media company that celebrates African culture, inspires curiosity, and raises a generation of global citizens. We knew it would take vision, collaboration, and relentless execution.

From creating our flagship animation Kunda and Friends, to distributing books and music to over 1 million children every 90 days, to seeing our stories on airlines, in classrooms, and on global platforms, we have learned that breaking new ground requires courage and a community.

ABH: A Celebration of Collaboration and Excellence

The Africa’s Business Heroes (ABH) competition has been more than just an award. It has been a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and the power of African entrepreneurship.

Making it to the Top 20 was the result of a tremendous team effort. From finance to learning and development, our entire team rallied together to prepare for the highly competitive rounds of interviews and the rigorous due diligence process. The semi-finals were held in Dakar, Senegal — a vibrant city of indisputable charm, and home to the 2024 ABH Winner, Henri Ousmane Gueye of EYONE, whose work exemplifies innovation with impact.

To be named among Africa’s most promising entrepreneurs is not just an honour for Louisa, but a testament to the vision and excellence that drive Kunda Kids every day.

Looking Ahead: Our Commitment Remains Unshaken

While we proudly celebrate reaching the Top 20, we also see this as just the beginning. We remain steadfast in our mission to redefine children’s media from Africa to the world, ensuring that it is not only entertaining but also educational, culturally rich, and deeply inspiring.

We congratulate all the remarkable Heroes who advanced to the Top 10, and we cannot wait to join them in Kigali to cheer on the finalists.

To everyone who has supported Louisa and Kunda Kids on this journey — from our team and investors to our families and global community — thank you. Your belief in us fuels everything we do.

Onwards and upwards. The best is yet to come.
